Sunflower Logistics is a small business operating in Melbourne providing vital distribution services to florists across the city.
To expand its horizons and move into personalised and event sales, the business is looking to redesign its shop to incorporate UX and UI criteria. Where customers can browse its products, make purchases, get in touch with him, and check out our featured monthly offers via desktop or phone.

- About
This business provides Melbourne florists with fresh flowers regularly. The primary method of sales employed by this organization is face-to-face wholesaling. To expand the customer base, they wish to revamp their online store.
- Problem
A comprehensive audit of Sunflower’s existing website revealed inconsistencies in branding, written content, and photography, leading us to conclude that the website was not producing the desired sales results.
- Goal
Create a modern and in-line visual design that reflects the company brand. Execute an action plan that will cause customer devotion and heighten sales of flower arrangements. Optimize online store presence on Google to draw in prospective clients with heightened visibility.
The challenge
Sunflower Logistics is a small Melbourne-based business that initially aimed to supply native flowers and foliage to local florists. Whilst the business evolved and sought to attract other customers, the original online shop created by the owner with WIX was not generating any sales and lost currency after the business’s rebrand.
The initial focus was on redesigning the online shop to align it with the business’s new brand, make it more competitive and appeal to new customers.
The WIX website lacked a full online shopping experience and was quite limited in its vision as it did not allow the owner to expand to new customers, events supply and bookings for future dates.
The exisiting website was not built with SEO principles either. It was poorly positioned, and the lack of key words that could eventually bring organic customers to the shop was one of the first challenges to tackle.

Initial Artefacts

We managed to develop a style guide for the online store by obtaining the Sunflower Brand Manual. However, the client made modifications outside the style guide in certain cases.
Wireframing
I utilized wireframing to consider the design of the product and refine the attributes. Initially, I began by quickly sketching on paper to capture my concepts, then proceeded to create low-fidelity wireframes in platforms such as Flowmapp or Figma.
Designing
I ensured adherence to UX design principles and the brand’s style by creating the wireframes according to the initial artefacts. To uphold the unified colour scheme and aesthetic, a style guide was developed to be followed during the design implementation.
It is imperative to keep in mind that consistency in web design is not possible without a Brand Manual. All web designs must follow the Manual to ensure offering more than just a product; there should be a positive impact on business efficiency and profitability.

Final product
The final product had certain variations compared to the prototype created in Figma. This was due to the use of a Shopify template during the preparation of the online shop. I endeavor to retain the original design whenever feasible, I consult with the client to reach a similar agreement and he always was agree with my ideas. After, we proceed with the development of the online shop.
A large portion of the content for Sunflower Shop were provided by the client in the form of photographs. Although some of these visuals are of an acceptable quality, much of it could benefit from improvement.
The wording for the new design was largely the same as before, however, the original website featured some text that formed the basis of what we used for the new shop. The customer was responsible for providing this content. We faced a challenge in some sections due to the layout being adjusted to a certain length; we worked together with the client to negotiate a satisfactory outcome.
Upon the conclusion of the project, the client expressed extreme satisfaction with the final product and is now making floral arrangement sales to patrons of his online shop.
- Insight One
The client’s constructive feedback on the look and functionality of the online store led to a successful creation of a layout that maximised user-friendly access. This design is highly distinctive from the preceding design created with the WIX system.
- Insight Two
Significant focus was placed on the incorporation of social media links. Their placement in various locations offers direct access to Sunflower’s various social networks.
- Insight Three
Considerable focus was given to the utilization of a (Buy it Now) button, offering the user the convenience of having an immediate route to payment.
