Mapuche is a pioneering fashion brand committed to improving sustainability through the use of organic cotton and a reduction in the use of chemicals by 80%.

This project began with the creation of a logo that was minimalist and easy to apply on labels of their products such as ponchos, jackets, fabrics, etc.  In the meetings with the client, visual elements were made clear that had in mind a philosophy of this aboriginal community. The integration of these values was taken into account in the creation of several versions of the initial logo.

Logo & Brand Identity

The products of this business are created with 100% organic cotton, in other words that its manufacturing process is manual and with zero use of polluting chemicals. At the same time, the values of their aboriginal ethnicity had to be highlighted.

We began a deep search for visual elements, patterns and Mapuche symbols, which led us to use a universal symbol that is the arrow, finding within its compositional grid a division that led us to create the representation of the aboriginal person wearing a poncho . The division was made by means of colors. The typeface used for this project was a Sans Serif called “Nunito”, which due to its rounded tips generates less visual aggression and a more friendly and smooth font, a value that was kept in mind from the beginning of this project. A symbol that represents the Mapuche origin and a simple and friendly typeface.

“We want to ensure that our brand is associated with our origins, Mapuche culture is featured prominently as a source of great value.”

Exploring multiple ways to use Mapuche mark!

The applications for this brand are diverse and within these they were initially present. An application for the exterior banner of the store, a design for a bag, for the label of your products and design of some banners for outdoors ads.

A proposal was made for the management of social networks with some compositional variations. This project had to be paused.
